BIRDEN, John Harlan age 92, passed away on Thursday November 3, 
2011. He was born on November 23, 1918 in Boone County, IN to the 
late Ernest and Halcie Birden. He graduated from Central University 
(formerly Indiana University) and was employed as a research chemist for 
many years with Mound Facility in Miamisburg, OH. He joins in death his 
parents, wife Ruth "Libby" Elizabeth Birden and a sister Hannah Pauline 
Alger. Survivors include his four children: daughter Gail Birden, son Larsh 
(Cindy) Birden, daughters Leslie Bailey and Lisa (Robert) Garland, and 
three grandchildren: Emma R. (Micah) Bailey Tompkins, Robert N. 
Garland & William E. Garland. A memorial service will be held on Sunday 
December 4, 2011 at 3:00PM at the Otterbein-Lebanon Senior Lifestyle 
Community Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in 
John's name to Mound Science and Energy Museum, 1075 Mound Road,
