TICKEL, Marvin E. age 87 of West Carrollton, passed away Friday, September 10, 2010. He was born June 17, 1923 in Miamisburg, the son of the late Edgar J. & Helen I. (Urschel) Tickel. Marvin was retired from General Motors with 35 year of service, was a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, VFW Post #3438, American Legion Post #165, a former member of the West Carrollton Lions Club, and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. Preceded in death by his wife Frances "Fran" Tickel in 2004, a sister Alma Miller and a grandson Scott B. Tickel. He is survived by his 2 sons Craig T ickel and wife Pat of Chicago, Bobby Tickel of West Carrollton, his daughter Pam Spencer and husband Kenneth of West Carrollton, his brother Delbert J. Tickel and wife Jeanette of NC, his sister Janet Sauter and husband William of Carlisle, 5 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 4 step- great grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5550 Munger Road. Rev. John Mittermaier officiating. Burial Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the SWART FUNERAL HOME, West Carrollton.
