Just wanted to say hi to all my fellow classmates.  Looking forward to seeing all of

you that will be around over the reunion weekend.  For those that can't make it, we

will be thinking about you.  How about composing a note so we can post it here.  Over

the last 35 years I have been to college, been to Africa with Brown and Moore, been

to the army, been to college, built Funoes with Brown, made building panels, made

dartboard cabinets, been to college, sold athletic wear, worked in a computer store,

taught computer classes, did construction, and for the last 20 years-management and

computer consulting, while off and on being in involved in some cockamamie scheme. I

have helped coach soccer from time to time, both girls and guys.  Through it all I

have managed to be married for 22 years to Cathy (Wabler), who Mike Brown introduced

me to. She has never forgiven him. In fact, she went diving with Gordon and was in a

gymnastics program with Jim Landis before she met me. She also worked with Dee Towson

and Dan Kuck at one time or another.  We have two lovely, yet outspoken daughters,

Megan 19, who is ready to take an EMT certification test and Erin 17, who will be a

senior and soccer player at Carroll High School.  I normally don't see too many

classmates(Mike Brown, Gary Brock and Joe Gavin fairly regularly), but since we

started the reunion planning, I have had the pleasure to speak with a whole bunch of

classmates.  It has been really great.  Sometimes you pick up like no time has passed

at all.  Had a mini reunion with Joe and my old next door neighbor Jim Kuhns not too

long ago.  Had another mini reunion with Jiggs Harris several weeks ago.

My parents have both passed, my mom last year.  Brother Dave lives in Carmel, IN and

sister Sue Marinelli still lives in WC.  My aunt, Pat Buckingham, still lives in WC.

I think our whole family of WC grads are going to get together and attend the WC

Alumni Association Dinner/Dance in the Fall.

Reunions are not living in the past, they are ways of remembering who we are and how

we got to where we are today.  We all need that once in a while.

Love you all,

Steve Shade
